Hello, I’m Lydia, founder of The Flower Lab. I can’t wait to hear your story, but first, let me tell you mine.

I built my career in luxury hospitality and retail companies and then spent 10 years in the corporate world. My jobs were always people-focussed which I loved, but I was craving a creative outlet.

When I was a child I watched my Mum take pride over displaying fresh flowers when we had guests to visit, or on a Saturday “just because”. I spent hours in the garden with my grandfather planting spring bulbs and providing an extra pair of hands to help with his chores. I’ve grown to explore colour, texture, and form through curiosity and experimentation. The idea of combining a creative skill with a passion for people, led me to create The Flower Lab.

As your Bristol florist, I understand that flowers play a role at any occasion - marriages, birthdays, farewells, or “just because” - and it’s a joy to create individual designs that tell a story. I work with intention and passion to create unique pieces that reflect you, and your occasion; whether you’re walking down the aisle, honouring a loved one, or celebrating the everyday.

I’m joined by my black Labrador, Disco, who is usually found collecting stems from the floor, or snoozing in a sunny spot.
